In Vietnam, cosmetic and pharmaceutical products have the tendency to develop strongly; however, users need to understand correctly about these products.
"Explosive" cosmetic medicine
Currently, cosmetics extracted from herbs, with good effects and safety are a tendency to be trusted, cared and selected by many consumers, especially for skin care product lines and hair.
At the seminar with the topic: "Cosmetic pharmaceuticals: Understanding correctly and using correctly", experts made the comment: in Vietnam, cosmetic pharmaceutical products are currently tending to flourish, however, users need to understand these products correctly and regulatory agencies need to test to publish the results before reaching consumers.

Accordingly, cosmetic medicine is a group of products combining cosmetics and pharmaceutical products. This means that besides the role of cleansing, beautifying as a cosmetic product, cosmetic medicine has more uses as a medicine. Cosmetic pharmaceuticals have substances with mild biological activity, beneficial for body parts when used.
An example is given as a shampoo (cosmetic) + anti-dandruff (medicine) = dandruff shampoo (cosmetic medicine).
With the effect of affecting the body, having the effect of treating a certain part of the body, the issue of safety criteria for cosmetic and pharmaceutical products has been taken very seriously by experts.
Assoc.Prof. Dr. Le Van Truyen, former Deputy Minister of Health, Senior Pharmacist, affirmed: Because cosmetics have a medicinal effect, almost like medicine, even though only skin contact is not only effective. Topical application that has a systemic effect (enters the bloodstream, alters some body functions).

Identify a reliable supplier
On the market today, many consumers already know the names of some cosmetic brands from Europe but not many people know that 100% Vietnamese brands such as Sao Thai Duong, Hai Long, Dai Viet Huong ... the effect is not inferior. Moreover, in the aspect of climate, skin ... of Vietnamese people, these products have the advantage.

According to Associate Professor Nguyen Thanh Hai - Vice President in charge of the Faculty of Medicine and Pharmacy, Vietnam National University, Hanoi, in order to have a good product, manufacturers have to go through a research and development process as well. such as controlling beneficial and useful ingredients as well as harmful components very closely. This depends on the reputation of each company, the social responsibility of the manufacturer. So manufacturers and consumers have to choose, if manufacturers lack social responsibility sometimes they publish too much information than the true effects of the product bring disadvantages to consumers.
Sharing on this issue, Master Nguyen Thi Huong Lien - Deputy Director of Sao Thai Duong Joint Stock Company affirmed that manufacturers to make cosmetics must meet strict regulations. Currently, ASEAN countries have regulations that clearly state that businesses wishing to develop cosmetic products to provide consumers responsibly must complete the research steps such as obtaining documents. Safety and efficacy from raw materials, after preparation of finished products, evaluation of safety criteria is needed.

For example, does it really moisturize or not wrinkle skin, anti melasma. Treatment of melasma is medicine, but anti-pigmentation, anti-wrinkle cosmetics are. ”
