DOSAGE FORM: Drug syrup.

ACTIONS: Alimemazin is a derivative of phenothiazine, has a strong antihistamine and anti-serotonin effect, effective in the symptoms of urticaria, pruritus, cough. In addition, the drug also has a sedative and anti-emetic effect.
Alimemazin is rapidly absorbed from the gastrointestinal tract after taking 15-20 minutes, the drug has a lasting effect of 6-8 hours.
INDICATIONS: For treatment of:
- Respiratory allergies such as rhinitis, sneezing, runny nose. Conjunctivitis.
- Skin itching: eczéma, papilloma, urticaria, ...
- Dry coughs, especially allergies and irritation, at night.
- Restlessness, insomnia.
- Vomiting
Treatment of acute malignant state (agitation).
CONTRAINDICATIONS: Hypersensitivity to alimemazine or phenothiazine derivatives.
Children under 2 years old. Women who are pregnant or breastfeeding. Liver, kidney, epilepsy, Parkinson's disease, hypothyroidism, myasthenia gravis, prostatic hypertrophy, risk of urinary retention associated with urethral disorders. History of agranulocytosis. Narrow-angle glaucoma.
PRECAUTIONS: Alimemazin may interfere with test skin tests with allergens. Drugs cause drowsiness, caution with drivers and operators of machinery. During treatment do not drink alcohol or other neurosuppressant drugs. Elderly people are very vulnerable to reduced orthostatic blood pressure (need to reduce the dose).
Patients with cardiovascular disease.
INTERACTIONS: Drugs increase the effect of central nervous system inhibitors, antihypertensive drugs, anticholinergic drugs.
The drug reduces the therapeutic effect of amphetamine, levodopa, clonidine, guanethidine, adrenalin, hypoglycemic drugs.
Antacids, Parkinson's and lithium medications prevent the absorption of Alimemazin.
ADVERSE EFFECTS: Drowsiness, fatigue, drowsiness, headache, dizziness, dry mouth, thick sputum, constipation, urinary retention, eye-regulating disorders.

OVERDOSE AND TREATMENT: Overdose manifestations: drowsiness or loss of consciousness, hypotension, increased heart rate, ECG changes, ventricular arrhythmias, and hypothermia. Extrapyramidal reactions may occur.
How to handle: if detected early (before 6 hours, after an overdose), it is best to wash the stomach. The method of emesis is almost not used. Can use activated carbon. There is no specific antidote. Need supportive treatment in case of cardiovascular collapse, arrhythmia, inhibition of central nervous system severe.
DOSAGE AND ADMINISTRATION:

Children over 2 years of age: take 5 - 10 ml x 3 - 4 times / day.
Adults: 20 ml orally 3-4 times / day.
Elderly people should reduce the dose: 20 ml x 1-2 times / day.
* Treatment of dry cough:
Children over 2 years of age: take 1-2 ml syrup / kg body-weight / day, in divided doses.
Adults: 10 - 80 ml / day in divided doses.
* Used to cause sleep:
Children: 0.5 - 1 ml syrup / kg body weight / day, taken before bed.
Adults: 10 - 40 ml, taken before bed.
Or as directed by a physician.
Note:
* One teaspoon = 5 ml of syrup.
* One tablespoon = 15 ml of syrup
